INTRODUCCIÓN
Alcoholism means alcohol dependence and an alcoholic is a person who needs alcohol in order to continue functioning Most commonly ,alcohol affects the circulatory system ,as drinking can lead to an alteration in the heartbeat ,or increased blood pressure The reproductory system may also be damaged by drinking an excess of alcohol In males ,irreversible testicular attrophy may result,leading to a decrease in the size of the testicles which then may cause impotence and sterility .In females there is a risk of amenorrhea,which is a decrease in the size of the ovaries This can cause menstruation to cease and rsult in infertility Most commonly ,alcohol affects the digestive system causing abdominal pain ,diarrhoea and vomiting ,more seriously ,the liver can be damaged The effects upon the central nervous system includes changes of behaviour, mental blackouts ,sleeping problems and visual and auditory hallucination.It is not necessary to be an alcoholic to suffer from effects of drinking alcohol .Even a moderate drinker can be harmed.negrita
